Questions and answers – on our “Old school running” workshops

Who benefits from attending this workshop?

Any runner who has unanswered questions about what the best way to train is and how to structure training in around modern life or their specific circumstances. Every athlete is a unique puzzle but through the workshops we can show you how to adapt universal principles for training success to your context.

Is this best for beginners or elite?

It really doesn’t matter as we have experience with both. The principles are the same whether you have never run a step or you are competing for international honours. The execution is different but at the workshop, everyone is equal and we’ll speak about everyone’s individual needs be they trying to run 2:30 for the marathon two months from now or completing your first 10k race.

Can I attend if I’m injured?

This is not advised. In that case your best course of action is to attend our “Injury free champions everywhere” workshops, so we can help you find the root cause for your injury first, get you back running without risk of injury and then begin focusing purely on performance goals again.

I’m already a ChampionsEverywhere coached athlete or CE Squad member, does this help me?

Absolutely, this is a great chance to talk in more details about your training and work together in person. If you already have a training programme with us, we can offer you a 10% discount on the price. We will email all current programme holders a code shorlty. CE Squad members should contact René directly with questions on this workshop.

Where does the event take place?

We meet at the St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh G.A.A. Club, Glenariff Road, Navan Road, Dublin 7. This is just north of the Phoenix Park. The theory parts will take place in the club-house while we will do our running in the Phoenix Park.

You can find a location map here. Ring us at 0851214541 if you have trouble with directions.

What should I bring?

You will want to bring your regular runners for tarmac and for grass as well as a change of clothes. Take into account the need for a water-proof/wind-proof jacket for a wet day.

Is lunch included?

Unfortunately not, but we will arrange for a group booking at a nice location and tea and coffee will be provided for.
